Menopause

Menopause is a natural phase in womanhood when menstruation ceases which typically occurs between ages 45 and 55. However in some cases menopause can occur earlier due to factors like surgery, cancer treatments, or genetics. Perimenopause precedes menopause and involves symptoms before periods stop.  Symptoms may include anxiety, mood swings, brain fog, hot flushes, and irregular periods, often lasting years before and after menopause. These symptoms can significantly impact personal relationships and work life.

Fortunately, various strategies can help manage symptoms designed to alleviate discomfort during menopause and perimenopause.  Therapy is often overlooked when it comes to seeking support with the menopause, however it can be a great way to help come to terms with the changes your body is going through.  Helping you to understand through self-awareness how you can manage the impact this is having on you and your loved ones.  Talking therapy can be a great tool in developing coping strategies helping to alleviate some of the distress you are experiencing, or even just having a safe place to feel heard and understood.
